submissions guidelines
Submissions are now closed for Issue 2: Citrus! Thank you everyone for your submissions.
For more updates regarding submissions, check out our Instagram (@fulminare.review) and Twitter (@ReviewFulminare).
To submit, follow the guidelines below.
All submissions should be directed to our email, [email protected]. The subject line should be organized as [Last name, Submission Title] (ex. Forbess, The Present).
All submissions should adhere to our theme, whatever it means to you! This means that interpretation is allowed and encouraged.
At the moment, we are accepting work in the following formats:
Unfortunately, due to a lack of art staff, we cannot accept art pieces at this time but we hope that this can change in later issues.
Acceptable fonts include:
All writing should adhere to our guidelines. We do not under any circumstance publish discriminatory work. In addition, we ask that you respect our editors’ triggers and do not submit work that could be considered triggering without the proper warnings included in the body of your email. Be respectful; if you have a dramatic amount of bad language for no good reason, that may indicate a lack of better vocabulary on your end, so be wary of peppering your story with random profanity. As we are a youth magazine run by minors, NSFW writing is prohibited as well.
Prose pieces (including experimental/hybrid) should be at maximum 3,500 words, though keep in mind that we are more likely to publish pieces closer to the flash fiction or shorter short story range. For poetry, please send in a maximum of 4 poems of any length.
In the body of your email, please include a brief third person bio (for inspiration or clarity check out our masthead), the attached pieces in PDF or Google Doc format, and, if you feel so inclined, a brief cover letter. The inclusion of a cover letter does not affect the status of your submission, but we love to read them.
